Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate fuel cost for a trip?
Enter the trip distance in km, your vehicle's fuel efficiency, and the current price per litre. The calculator works out how many litres you need and multiplies by the fuel price.
How do I convert mpg to L/100km?
L/100km = 235.214 ÷ mpg. So 35 mpg = 235.214 ÷ 35 ≈ 6.72 L/100km. Select mpg in the efficiency unit dropdown and the calculator converts automatically.
What is a good fuel efficiency for a car?
Efficient petrol cars achieve 15–20 km/L (5–7 L/100km, 40–55 mpg). Average family cars manage 10–14 km/L. SUVs and trucks typically use 8–12 L/100km. Hybrids can exceed 25 km/L.
